UFOs aren't necessarily alien spacecraft. And some purported UFOs aren't UFOs at all, says NASA
LONDON (PTI): Unconfirmed reports of UFOs or unidentified flying objects -- the popular term for any aerial phenomenon that cannot immediately be identified -- dates back to ancient times.
Now a British expert has claimed that UFOs do exist and have been on Earth since 1947.
Philip Mantle, the Editor of UFO Data Magazine, came to the conclusion after investigating the site in Roswell, New Mexico, where many people believe that there was actually an alien crash in the 1940s.
In fact, he analysed rock, earth and vegetation in the area, surrounded by charred trees and bushes and a mysterious blue substance that dribbles down rocks, in this study.
Even in the area in the Nogal Canyon that is close to the well-known Socorro desert site, experts say another object appeared to have landed in 1964.
"A good friend of mine Ed Gerham first found the site and I flew over as soon as I could. It was a real find and as soon as I arrived there I knew what a special and peculiar place it was. There is nothing around it for around 70 miles, it is literally in the middle of nowhere.
"Brits really have beaten the Americans at their own game and it is really great that we have done that. It really is revolutionary for the UFO world," Mantle was quoted by 'The Daily Telegraph' as saying.
He is set to reveal his full findings at the UFO Data Annual Conference later this month in Leeds.
